Ludum is proud to be partnering with The Gemini Boat Race to deliver streaming of live athlete performance data for the first time! Find out more below…
The Boat Race 2022 Trial Eights will be held on Sunday 19 December and Monday 20 December on The Tideway Course, London. Sunday will see Oxford University Boat Club & Oxford University Women’s Boat Club take to the water, and Monday will see the turn of Cambridge University Boat Club.*
For the first time at Trial Eights, Ludum will record & provide streamed athlete performance data in real time, bringing a whole new dimension to the racing action. Viewers will be able to see live pace, stroke rate, distance travelled and exact boat locations throughout both Men’s races. The action will unfold like never before, and the intricacies of technique and tactics will be unveiled to those watching at clubs, home and across the world.
The Trial Eights are important preparation races in The Gemini Boat Race season providing rowers and coxes with learning experience as well as a selection test held over the full 4 1/4 mile Championship Course from Putney to Mortlake in London.
Trial Eights races give the coaches the opportunity to see how their athletes fare under the unique side by side racing and the unpredictable conditions on the Tideway. The squads will be split in two, with the coaches hoping to create evenly matched crews to test the individual rowers on their ability to perform under pressure. The Trial Eights are part of the process for selecting final crews for The Gemini Boat Race 2022
